Panourile sandwich Topanel

February 17th, 2014 by admin

Avantajele panourilor sandwich

Blog about … what?

January 10th, 2014 by Ephemeris

In plus, mi-a fost greu sa scriu ceva.

Salveaza o viata!

December 11th, 2008 by Ephemeris

Go for it!

December 5th, 2008 by Ephemeris

The European Journalism Centre will organize next year a contest for bloggers that want to cover the European Parliamentary Elections.
That’s a great idea – especially for countries like Romania, where the voters still need a great deal of information on this matter. And the Internet seems, for the moment, the best way to do it.

Only three conditions should be fulfilled before you register:

1. Nationality of EU Member State
2. Possibility to submit your posts in English
3. Previous publication(s) if applicable

and afterwards:

1. Participation in the launch event in Brussels (25-27th January, 2009)
2. At least one post per month (from February 1 to June 9, 2009)

Think about it!

Too busy to do their job

November 3rd, 2008 by Ephemeris

The European Commission decided to pursue infringement procedures against Romania -already second stage – for the energy sector.
The main reason is that the Romanian Parliament failed to pass an emergency government ordinance, that was supposed to assure the compliance of Romanian legislation to the EU Directives 2005/89 and 2003/54. The deadline was in February 2008, the Finance Ministry did sent for deliberation a draft legislation in this regard and also urged the Parliament to pass the governmental emergency ordinance, but Romanian Parliament failed to approve it in due time.
Romania can still avoid a trial, if the required legislation would be adopted.
Unfortunately, the campaign already started, so there is a risk of overlooking what’s really important.

Statistics

October 31st, 2008 by Ephemeris

‘Eurostat regional yearbook 2008 – EU27 regions under the magnifying glass’ was published, according to a EU press release.
As you can see, in 2006, 4.4% of the EU27 labour force was employed in high-tech sectors. The percentage was less than 2% in 23 EU27 regions: 6 of these regions were found in Romania (hear that, monsieur de Ciofliceni?), 5 in Greece, 4 each in Spain and Poland, and 2 each in Bulgaria and Portugal.

In Romania, the region with highest rate was Bucharest – Ilfov (quite predictible) – 5.8% (above EU27 average), and the lowest rate was in South-West Oltenia and South – East – 1.1%.

The surprise comes with the figures related to deaths in road traffic accidents per million inhabitants by region, 2006.
For Romania, the highest rate was in the West (161) (wild, wild west), and the lowest rate in Bucharest -Ilfov (93). Could it be because in this region the vehicles mostly stay in traffic, not … fly? (they wish)

The restless little man

October 30th, 2008 by Ephemeris

I was afraid that maybe my yesterday post on Sarkozy was kind of malicious (actually, I was told it was mean :D). Seems to me I am not the only one fed up with Sarkozy’s desperate need to be the centre of the Universe. Also on 21st of October he decided to rescue the Europe from crisis with an astonishing proposal: partial nationalisation of key European companies.
Several reactions to this odd idea you may find in Cafebabel press review.
Czech president Václav Klaus criticises the ‘crazy’ suggestions:

‘Those who were fortunate enough not to have lived under communism should not succumb to the fatal fallacy that central planning can eliminate crises. This idea is a misconception. Crises were always used by irresponsible politicians as an excuse for massive state intervention in the economy. Popular fear gives politicians a blank cheque. Let us try to revive trust in the banking and financial system. But let us not attempt to erect new, artificial systems that are directed even more than before against a normally functioning market. Sarkozy’s proposals (and also those of German chancellor Angela Merkel) will not lead to a ‘new capitalism.’ What they really represent is a return to ‘old socialism’.’

What a strange and unbelievable situation! West-European countries, the core of democracy on our continent – France and Germany – try to impose communist solutions to the very model of capitalist market, and former communist countries are strongly against this. Unfortunately, state intervention, if will happen, will be a disastrous acceptance of failure, the little trust the citizens might still have will be vanished. And I don’t want to think about long-term effects.

Handelsblatt (Germany) also have nothing but harsh words for the tempestuous French leader:

‘But now success seems once again to have gone to Sarkozy’s head. Sovereign wealth funds with investments in key industries? And that coming from leading conservative politicians of all people. What on earth will come next? How about a central planning authority, preferably one for the whole of Europe. It is high time to bring Super-Sarko back down to earth. The banks are in dire straits, state investments are necessary for a transitional period. But nationalising entire sectors of industry, however ‘strategic’ that may be, we’d better leave that to the Russians.’

As I understood, The French president has called another summit for 7th of November, in Brussels and, only a week after, there is an international financial-crisis meeting in the U.S. I wonder – what other surprises does he have in his hat?
sarkozy
P.S. Of course, our very own president, Traian Basescu (‘Sarkozy de Bucarest’ – sure, a beta version, little Paris – little Sarkozy) is too busy to inform Romanians on these matters, even though he loves the summits as much as his friend. I bet it is the translator’s fault.

All together now: “Unite unite Europe”

October 29th, 2008 by Ephemeris

Monsieur Sarkozy has once again made use of his “six brains” (I wonder if it hurts). So, the husband of Carla Bruni thinks that the present world crisis could be a great opportunity for himself to remain in charge until (at least) 2010, as seen on Le Monde article. Vive la France, vive la crise!
In his speech to MEPs on 21 October, Sarkozy mentioned the (urgent) need for a “unified economic government” of the Eurogroup. He already sees himself as a smiling president of this government until 2010. But the ungrateful Czech Deputy Prime Minister Alexandr Vondra immediately rejected this extraordinary gift, and refused to willingly and gladly hand over the Czech Republic scheduled presidency.

“Nobody can take the presidency away from the Czech Republic. Any speculation over an extension of the current presidency is groundless and unacceptable,”

Surprise, surprise -even Germany is reluctant to the brilliant proposal.

And the nasty French Socialist leader François Hollande dears to mock The Man:

“Sarkozy wants to be president of everything now,”

adding that the president will soon be asking to have his French presidential term prolonged in 2012 without another election (well, well, Monsieur Hollande, don’t give him any new ideas!).

Great essences come in small recipients. But is this a nice essence? Because this one is great and really stinks.

With Constitutional Treaty failed, the Lisbon Treaty ‘frozen’ (oh, come on, let’s face it: also failed) this is exactly what ‘unified Europe’ needs. As I was telling natka more than a year ago:

…even there is a ‘potential’ for a super-state, for most Europeans it is to soon to talk about this. And we cannot ignore that there is also a ‘potential’ of breaking-up (less important, but it’s there). We will know for sure only when EU will face its first real major crisis (it will come, whether we like or not, its a cycle). We’ll see if EU will react as a whole or not. Then we can talk about super-state or super- nation or whatever this union tends to become.

The major crisis I was talking about is here, and I don’t like what I see. Wake up, gentlemen!
